Robin Morgan:
The "otherizing" of women is the oldest oppression known to our species, and it's the model, the template, for all other oppressions.

THEATRE UNBOUND CREATES A MONSTER
World Premiere of Frankenstein Incarnate Initiates 2007-08 Season

Theatre Unbound announces the world premiere of Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley by Anne Bertram, October 26-November 17, 2007. This marks Theatre Unbound's first performance in their new space at the Neighborhood House in the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center, 179 Robie Street E in St. Paul. Ticket prices are $18 (regular adult), $15 (student/senior/Fringe button), and $12 (groups of 8 or more; or veterans and active military). See show calendar below for dates and times.

"Frankenstein Incarnate was written especially for our company," says Unbound Artistic Director Stacey Poirier. "We started out wanting to adapt Frankenstein for an all-female cast, but the more we learned about the life of its author, Mary Shelley, the more we saw how her experience overlapped and intertwined with the story that made her famous. The play brings a new spark of electricity to the story by reanimating the real life horror that inspired it."

An all female cast brings Mary Shelley's perspective to life, including: Company Members – Stacey Poirier, Delta Rae Giordano, Noë Tallen, Laura Wiebers, Shannon Buchda and Alexandra Gould. With Guest Artists – Katie Guentzel (Pangea World Theater, Illusion Theater) and Valerie Rigsbee (Bedlam Theatre). Directed by Carin Bratlie.

ABOUT THEATRE UNBOUND

Theatre Unbound produces high quality, visionary theatre created by women - powerful stories that represent women in active pursuit of their goals and desires; female perspectives on universal struggles and achievements.

In 1999 seven Twin Cities women theatre artists formed Theatre Unbound with one intention - to tell women's stories. We created a space for these stories by producing the works of women playwrights, unleashing the visions of women directors, and broadening the scope of female characters seen on the stage.

The company is very excited to announce their new partnership with the Neighborhood House, and our 2007-08 season bringing new stories to a new stage.
